Born in Macau, Adam Guan moved to the United States in 1966 at the age of three. His parents made their home in Seattle where Guan attended the University of Washington majoring in printmaking. A lifelong love of theater was realized when he began designing sets for several small theater companies in the Puget Sound region. Painting sets for a production of "Sunday in the Park with George" re-introduced Adam to his love of the art and in the following years he made painting his primary medium.
Working in a fashion that fluidly blends Eastern subjects and styles with a Western medium, he incorporates elements from traditional Japanese /Chinese painting and still life floral works. Adam currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay area as a fine artist and highly sought commercial illustrator. Adam's work.
